National Sales Manager

 

Caribbean Food Delights (CFD), a privately owned & operated company, is the leading manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties: beef, chicken and vegetable. This state-of -the-art facility is SQF certified. We are looking for/seeking a motivated, results-driven, National Sales Manager to join our team. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

• Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services; set performance goals accordingly; work with sales team to achieve set targets and goals.
• Develop and manage sales/marketing budgets in a timely manner; develop and project short/long range budgets, monitor and work within established budgets, produce regular budget reports and provide accurate sales forecasting for budget planning.
• Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies, etc., to capture key demographics.
• Meet with customers/buyers to discuss their needs and assess the quality of CFD’s relationship with them.
• Respond to all lead inquiries, generated through current lead generation sources; identify and implement new lead sources.
• Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales, in an effective manner.
• Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
• Represent the company at trade shows, trade association meetings, etc., to promote products.
• Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
• Interact with other departments and key personnel to ensure that all sales goals and objectives are realized.
• Perform other job-related duties for Caribbean Food Delights and/or any of the related companies, as assigned and as unilaterally determined by Caribbean Food Delights, Inc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

 

Experience in: the food industry, preferably in the Specialty Frozen Food segment; meeting with buyers or category managers in national/regional food service accounts, retail sales and with an emphasis on club stores; leading and managing sales team as well as external broker network; identifying, selecting and attending industry trade shows.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or equivalent

Minimum 3 -5 years as a Sales Manager

Minimum 5 – 7 years of Sales experience

Proven track record of positive sales performance

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

FOOD TECHNOLOGIST- 1st/2nd SHIFT (SWING)

Frozen food manufacturer located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks immediately, a Food Technologist with 3-5 years related work experience for a second shift, to assist with the performance of prescribed quality control tests, maintain corresponding records and create associated certification and/or control charts for raw materials, products and related processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Enforce HACCP, GMPs and Safety standards throughout the facility to ensure compliance.
• Perform routine facility walkthroughs and communicate findings with Quality Control Manager
• Perform Pre-operational, operational and post operational checks
• Conduct and participate in internal and third party audits.
• Review  daily prerequisite food safety and quality control records
• Follow and improve quality control SOP’s and prerequisite programs
• Oversee all aspects of sanitation as per the Master Sanitation Schedule and ensure that tasks are effectively completed
• Report quality problems or findings to Quality Control Manager and follows up to ensure that corrective action has/will take place
• Assess the product specifications and test them with customer requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process including quality specifications and standards.
• Assists and/or train production employee on work, food safety and quality procedures as required.
• Performs verification on of HACCP records, prerequisite records, other relating to food safety quality control program.
• Monitor and approve supplier performance
• Handle ATP and allergen control testing
• Review labels and raw materials, routinely.
• Supervise line checkers and QC assistant to ensure timely checks and tests are being done accurately.
• Ensure product compliance with regulatory agencies and ensure that the company is adhering to quality standards; guide production staff about quality standards.
• Leads and/or participates in quality audits of the plant.
• Maintain, update and control accurate documentation of all records.
• Ensure that the calibration of all testing instruments are accurate and meet company standards.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
• Work on special projects.
• Participate in/or initiate Mock Recall.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or equivalent

4-5 years experience in USDA facility

Knowledge of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Pest Control Programs, USDA & FDA regulations

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and data entry software

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Frozen food manufacturer located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks immediately, a Production Supervisor with 3-5 years related work experience in food production, to assist in the day to day efficient management and supervision of the plant’s production processes and employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Supervise and participate in all phases of production, i.e., pre-operation, make-up, packaging and wash down, as necessary; move from area to area to ensure that all work in progress and the various processes are being carried out efficiently.
• Ensure that HACCP, GMPs and other food safety practices are being followed, daily.
• Check and verify machine controls for accuracy and performance, daily.
• Interact with mechanics to ensure that all equipment are in proper working condition at all times and schedule necessary repairs.
• Maintain appropriate plant sanitation, safe working conditions and proper food handling practices and procedures in the plant; ensure that all plant equipment is properly washed, sanitized and ready for each day’s production.
• Set up working systems which minimize the loss of packaging materials during the production process.
• Supervise production staff; assist in training and motivating employees, as required.
• Communicate with peers and/or senior management regarding major production decisions.
• Perform any other related duties.

PRODUCTION STAFF - 1ST OR 2ND SHIFT

Frozen Food Manufacturer located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY has the following production jobs immediately available on 1st shift:

 

Packer – Make up boxes, pack products, maintain the sanitary condition of the packaging area, wash and sanitize equipment and work areas at the end of production, perform any other related duties.

 

Pallet Packer – Set up pallets and other necessary supplies, check cases to ensure that lot codes and expiration dates are clearly marked, pack cartons/cases of products on to pallets, maintain sanitary condition of the work area, wash and sanitize equipment and work areas at the end of production, perform any other related duties.

 

Porter – Clean and wash all production tools and utensils, store tools and equipment in the proper places, clean and wash all surrounding areas, ensure that cleaner dispensers are properly operational, perform any other related duties.

 

Janitor – Clean offices, hallways, bathrooms, lunchroom and certain production areas; dispose of garbage and discarded boxes; refill and stock cleaning supplies; maintain cleanliness of all janitorial tools and equipment; perform any other related duties.
