Caribbean Food Delights, Inc., a frozen food manufacturing plant located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks a full-time Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Assistant (Dispatcher) for the first shift, with minimum 2 years of shipping & receiving/warehouse and forklift experience, to work in warehouse, production plant and freezer areas.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

 Preparing and loading merchandise onto trucks

Receiving, inspecting and accepting inbound freight orders; storing orders

Recording lot numbers for outgoing shipments and tracking shipments

Supplying the Production department with raw materials

Wrapping and removing finished products from the Production floor

Storing produced items

Conducting freezer and warehouse inventory

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 High School Diploma

 Good math (add and subtract) and communication skills

 Forklift trained -preferably Stand-Up

 Well organized, detail-oriented and accurate

Computer knowledge

Good interpersonal skills

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

 

Caribbean Food Delights (CFD) a privately owned company, located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, is the leading manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties: beef, chicken and vegetable. This state-of -the-art facility, is SQF certified. We are looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor with minimum three (3) years of related work experience in Food Production to assist in the day to day efficient management and supervision of the plant’s production processes and employees, for the second shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Supervise and participate in all phases of production, i.e., pre-operation, make-up, packaging and wash down, as necessary; move from area to area to ensure that all work in progress and the various processes are being carried out efficiently.

• Ensure that HACCP, GMPs and other food safety practices are being followed, daily.

• Check and verify machine controls for accuracy and performance, daily.

• Interact with mechanics to ensure that all equipment are in proper working condition at all times and schedule necessary repairs.

• Maintain appropriate plant sanitation, safe working conditions and proper food handling practices and procedures in the plant; ensure that all plant equipment is properly washed, sanitized and ready for each day’s production.

• Set up working systems which minimize the loss of packaging materials during the production process.

• Supervise production staff; assist in training and motivating employees, as required.

• Communicate with peers and/or senior management regarding major production decisions.

• Perform any other related duties.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Food Service Management, Food Science or equivalent

3-5 years’ experience in USDA facility

Knowledge of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Pest Control Programs, USDA & FDA regulations

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and data entry software

Good communication and customer service skills.

PRODUCTION STAFF - 1ST OR 2ND SHIFT

Frozen Food Manufacturer located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY has the following production jobs immediately available on 1st shift:

 

Packer – Make up boxes, pack products, maintain the sanitary condition of the packaging area, wash and sanitize equipment and work areas at the end of production, perform any other related duties.

 

Pallet Packer – Set up pallets and other necessary supplies, check cases to ensure that lot codes and expiration dates are clearly marked, pack cartons/cases of products on to pallets, maintain sanitary condition of the work area, wash and sanitize equipment and work areas at the end of production, perform any other related duties.

 

Porter – Clean and wash all production tools and utensils, store tools and equipment in the proper places, clean and wash all surrounding areas, ensure that cleaner dispensers are properly operational, perform any other related duties.

 

Janitor – Clean offices, hallways, bathrooms, lunchroom and certain production areas; dispose of garbage and discarded boxes; refill and stock cleaning supplies; maintain cleanliness of all janitorial tools and equipment; perform any other related duties.
